The Church is the institution of greatest confidence and the National Police and National Assembly are the least reliable.

Carlos Pellas, leader of one of the country’s main economic groups, affirms that in the face of the crisis «we have to find an orderly solution within the constitutional framework» and this implies an advance in the elections. In his opinion, the national strike is an «extreme measure» that he hopes will not be contemplated.

Roberto Zamora, President of Grupo Financiero Lafise, said in a statement that the conclusion to the Nicaraguan political crisis would take place through early elections.

Tourism sector companies, members of Canatur, denounce that the national and municipal authorities want to force them -under threats- to sign documents of rejection to roadblocks.

US Congresswoman, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, requests the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, for information about the entry visa for Camila Ortega Murillo and asks that it be revoked.

Mass march in solidarity with Mothers of April. The historic peaceful march “Mother of all marches”, left the Jean Paul Genie roundabout towards the Central American University (UCA) and concluded with one of the worst massacres, 15 murdered -including minors- and more than 120 injured in Managua, Estelí, Masaya and Chinandega. The attack was perpetrated by the National Police and its para-police forces, with snipers located in the Denis Martínez Stadium area. UCA and Cathedral open their doors to shelter thousands of people who participated in the peaceful march in honor of the Mothers of April.

Government celebrates the mothers with a “Cantata to mothers”, presided over by Daniel Ortega. In his speech he said “Nicaragua belongs to all of us and we will all stay here.”

CARUNA and Radio Ya burned after the attack on the mother’s march.

Attacks by mobs and para-police groups in different sectors of Managua, Masaya, Estelí and Chinandega with dead and dozens injured.

CENIDH condemns acts of repression and violence «ordered to be carried out by the government of Daniel Ortega».

National Police reports that «hooded individuals attacked families who participated in the singing tribute to the Nicaraguan Mothers with guns and mortars, up to now 12 people injured, including five police officers.»

University Coalition and civil society repudiate the murders perpetrated today by the Ortega-Murillo regime.

OAS, IACHR and government of Nicaragua agree to create an Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts to contribute to the investigation of recent acts of violence in Nicaragua.

For the first time, the main business groups in Nicaragua in a letter to President Ortega, call to forward elections and renewing electoral power.

Cosep advisors asked President Daniel Ortega to bring forward elections in an orderly manner and with a renewed Supreme Electoral Council (SEC).
